Remember our post awhile back about opportunity cost? It was one of our more popular postings, and so we’re talking about opportunity costs again today.
Specifically, today we’re featuring our infographic about opportunity cost. We’re using the example of spending $6/day on coffee. This could easily be something else – your cable bill, your mobile phone, or eating out for lunch.
As you can see below, the results of the opportunity cost of $6/day are astounding. If you put $6/day into something like a Betterment account, you could retire a millionaire!
Take Action
As suggested, use this infographic as a prompt not to just cut back on coffee (if you truly enjoy it, then continue to enjoy it), but to be more in charge of your financial future.
- Challenge Yourself: Set up a Betterment account or a solid bank savings account, and put away some money every day.
- Auto-Save: As your HR department to auto-deposit part of your pay check in savings, or if you are a freelancer, ask your bank how to setup an auto-transfer to your savings each month.
- Partner Up: Find an accountability partner to help you stick to your goals. Plan a finance date to keep track of your progress.
